Golfing Isle of Man

A round of golf at King Edward Bay is bound to be memorable - and the course is right on your doorstep when you stay at Groudle Glen Cottages.

The course is superbly maintained and, while being situated in an elevated position in Onchan, on the outskirts of the Island's capital Douglas, offers some of the best views in the Isle of Man.

The springy mountain turf is quite exceptional and there are some very impressive holes, including the short 14th, a par three with a carry over the heather and a magnificent view of Douglas Bay in the background. Indeed, players are treated to breathtaking landscapes and coastal views across the entire course.

Island-wide golfing experience

If you want to go further afield you have plenty of courses to choose from. Despite being just 33 miles long by 13 wide, the Island boasts nine golf courses (eight 18-hole and one nine-hole) and wherever you play you will be surrounded by sensational scenery - stunning coastal views and heather moorlands making even the grimmest score seem bearable.

Whatever your standard, playing golf in the Isle of Man dishes up a special experience. Thanks to our favourable climate, golfing for many is a year-round activity with few days' play lost to snow or fog. What's more, that warm Manx welcome extends equally to the club houses where the visiting player will seldom be a stranger for long.

"We had a lovely holiday. The cottages were a little home from home. The leaflets were a great help with planning our holiday. Many thanks again."
